Happy Easter Part 2 Again (sorry)double time

Books That Touch The Heart

Happy Easter
Happy Easter everyone. Though Easter is a pagan holiday, the Christian side of it is something that our very religion is based on. An old gospel song that I love (and wish I could find) says it all: He Got Up!
Out of all of the religions, all of the things people worship or believe, we are the only ones who have a God who came to Earth out of love, GAVE his life up out of love and then PICKED UP his life again, out of love. Greater love hath no man… Have a wonderful day!
And they saw the stone had been rolled away

Well I am still trying to decide what I want to write! I have three fiction stories I am working on, plus two new nonfiction I am kicking around. I think I want to do some work for hire, honestly. That’s where someone has a plot and the house contacts you to write it for them. Would love this.
But, the question is, just how much time do I have?
So many things are going on, let me give you a brief recap
We have five little goats, four being bottle fed. They are the cutest things!
Our geese and chickens are laying about 20 eggs a day. Anyone want to buy fresh eggs and live in the area?
I am in charge of our girl’s program on Wed. night and we’re up to nearly 60. We feed them as well.
I am starting a Sunday Night class called “Girl’s Only” that deals with teenage issues. It starts next week.
I am also taking over a Youth Center in the town I go to church. It’s not running—hasn’t been in awhile—and so I am basically starting from the ground up. Anyone know a company that loves to donate to Youth Hangouts?

Steeple Hill and its parent company is notorious for never letting an author know what’s going on with their books. And again it’s no surprise I find out through the grapevine. My book, Storm Clouds, evidently sold so well that they are going to be releasing it as a 3 in 1 with Val Hansen (who wrote me to tell me) and Shirley McCoy (who wrote her to tell her) who found out by accident as well! LOL!
You haven’t arrived until you have a book in Crossings Book Club. It’s going to be in their July Catalogue! I am so jazzed that I’m considering hand flips! Hehe!

Another Day

Okay all, I am ready to open my site up so here I go.

Today is Sunday, a long hard day.  I think I'm going to set my blog for weekly reports, like I did on my website.  These last two months have been hard.  You would not believe the struggles we have gone through, emotionally, financially, spiritually, you name it...
But it's funny...whereas five years ago I'd be freaking out, now I'm not because I realize God is in control and He'll see to my needs, regardless.

Half of our corral was knocked down today when we got home from church, however, the goats were okay.  None were hurt.

Oh speaking of, let me tell you a bit about myself.

Besides being an author, I am a webpage developer, web hosting, mary kay, budding foster parent, leader of our Wed. night girls group, critiquer...shall I go on.

Yes, I think I shall.  We also live on an 88 acre farm that has been in my husband's family since 1901, which I am not really a part of, just by marriage--not to my husband at least! heh.  But it was in horrible disrepair when we moved in, the house, which has been here since 1926 was falling down around our ears.

So far we've redone the floors, sanding staining etc, then the bedroom and kitchen, bathrooms, floors and all appliances.  We have torn out part of the fire place that was falling to pieces...to be finished in march.

We've cleaned out the tractor barn and work barn, which you couldn't walk into when we moved in.  The stables?  Egads, I was scared to go there....manure piled a foot high..okay only six inches....and stuff torn up and laying around--again you couldn't get in it.

The orchard was overgrown and we had to do some major pruning and mowing.  Grass at the house was up to my thighs....water had broken and ruined anything below four inches.

Oh, and the windows still need replacing, and the pecan orchard still needs cleaning.  But hey, we're only human and not rich.

HOWEVER, we now have goats in the stables--one due any day.  They're half nubians.  Her name is Sue-ie..yeah as in the pig call--my daudghter's idea.  Mr. Billy and Mr. Wether (for obvious reasons) are the other two.

And we had fifty chickens, down to twenty...half were killed by a wild dog a few weeks ago.  We get about 8 free range eggs a day, the best tasting eggs you'll ever eat!

And then there's sue-ie.  We'll be getting goats milk in another week or two.  Praise God for his provision!

And then there's the house/farm animals.  Four dogs, four cats (originally six, then two added, all dead but four), one of the four dogs we rescued from the street-he was beaten and abused and starved!  He's now the best pet around.

We also have one rabbit--tamed, many on the farm that are quite tasty.  One macaw--for Christmas.  One guinea pig...and I'm sure I'm leaving something out.

Talk about a busy life.  OH, and my husband is Christian Education Director--yeah, talk about doing work!  whew!

And then there's writing.

My writing has slowed--for obvious reasons!  hehe!  Gotcha!  not what you think.  God is changing the direction in my life.  I'm writing more nonfiction now than fiction.  I don't know why.  I have three fiction proposals ready to go out, but my heart is in the nonfiction.

I could go on and on about the woes the last two months, but I won't.  What I'd like to say is that, God is in control!

NEVER forget that.
